Plan on a day of walking on hilly unpaved trails.
One of the best events that I have been to
What a wonderful day in an early German community in the Bavarian section of Missouri. They've recreated the time and place relocating old farm building and equipment to Marthasville. A steam powered saw mill. A belt operated lathe. A rope tying machine. Blacksmiths. Candle dippers. Fur trappers. Gunsmiths. What a wonderful day with a peak at the past.
This a day once a year that celebrates the German settlers in eastern Missouri. This is a display of living history showing the people and the life in this area in the middle 1800's. It also traces the earlier people and explorers going back into the 1700's. Mixed in are more modern crafts. This is fun and interesting for any age.

Eat your lunch from one of the two restaurants run by Boy Scout troops.
If you want the home brewed root beer, get it early or you'll miss out.
Absolutely love this German historic festival. Great artists and volunteers. German food was YUM!
Ive been going for over 20 years and it just keeps getting better. Ive seen the second and even third generation of families passing their craft along. Delicious food, fun and passionate people and Missouri's fall best are on display!
